Black Boy Review

Rally of votes by Nnabuike Onah

They configured our lives
into different papers; ballots

and set before us
their swindling tongues

dripping with honey
and hopes

just like they did before
four years ago

and the four years before it
which all ended

in the nebulae. Hands
pointing upward,

slogans cascading
and lies of solidarity

echoing from the hubbubs.
We too have configured

them into liars, more liars
and most liars.

Nnabuike Onah lives in Onitsha. He studies political science at University Of Ibadan. He has been published in Kalahari review,  Bukrepublik, and Naija stories.
