SHADOWS OF DIFFERENT COLOURS (by Olisaeloka Onyekaonwu)

Distant souls we are
connected by sight,

shadows of different colours
that is our flag’s stigma.

Like the flesh and the grave;
spittle and blood
our understanding are strangers,

Misunderstanding unites us
rocky interest sustain us;
vanity embraces us stiff
Alas! We are all shadows of different colours.
