Schism; we split into two
like a bean though we were maize.
We became a twin kernel
in a shell; a hard wall divides.
We sing songs that are foreign
to our ears; this is Babel.
We are cleaned up like a china
wiped of leftovers; we are empty
Of those memories of us
our laughter and songs; we have forgotten
That once we were one
covered together under a blanket of unity.
